A Bold Leap Forward while Looking at the Past!

Announcing the Ebonite Turbo X—a bold leap forward while looking at the past! We went into the archives to reimagine the very first reactive ball Ebonite ever created, and we’ve returned with an updated version that’s once again ahead of its time. The Turbo X keeps the original core shape simple and effective, but with a game-changing update: instead of a thick shell, we’ve wrapped the Turbo core in DynamiCore for increased durability and performance. This method allows for stronger core numbers, ensuring the Turbo X exceeds expectations on today’s lane conditions. And the most significant upgrade? The cover. We’ve fused Ebonite’s proven GB 10.7 Solid coverstock with the HK22 base to deliver a reaction that meets the needs of modern bowlers. The Ebonite Turbo X isn’t just a ball—it’s a piece of bowling history redefined.

Bang for your buck!

This is an amazing piece to add to your bag, especially on a typical house shot. Turbo X has a smooth shape with some backend. Commonly found for lower end pieces is the carry being missing. Carry does not lack with this one! Please try it. You will not be disappointed.

Turbo X is Back and Better than Ever!

After a 30-year hiatus, the Turbo X is back and better than ever! The original version of the Turbo X was very clean through the fronts and smooth off the spot, giving bowlers more predictability and consistency down lane. The out of box surface of 1500, finished with Factory Compound making this ball better for medium and lighter oil conditions. I personally have adjusted my surfaces to 1000, then 2000 to get a little more bite, while maintaining a smooth and predictable roll down lane. The layout in this ball is 60x4.5x30, giving me a little bit more versatility if I am going up the boards or have to move inside and open the lanes up. If you were old enough to throw the original Turbo X, then the new Turbo X is a must have in your bag!

COMMENTS

This is a unique ball for me. Nothing else in my bag reacts like the Turbo-X. I changed the surface on advice of fellow staff members, due to my low rev rate. It was a good move. It allowed the ball to read the lane early enough that it went through the pins properly. The Turbo-X allowed me to stay close to the friction with a smooth but still energized ball motion. It was great on shots missed to the left and got me strikes, where a more angular ball would have gone through the nose. This is an excellent choice for league bowlers of all styles and ability levels.

Thanks for reading this review. Good bowling to all!

First Turbo

I had a turbo urethane back in the day. Quit bowling as Turbo X came out. I have only bowled 3 games with it and I lost sleep anxious for the league to start. I shaped it over the second arrow. I could hit on it. Just have to make sure I keep my speed up. With this ball, I have to imagine myself being a gun slinger. I have the confidence that big scores are coming my way.

Turbo X is back!

The Turbo X is back. What can be said about this iconic bowling ball. With an overhaul to the construction; this ball provides that same motion on the lanes in the current environment. Out of box this ball provides excellent predictable motion and is ideal for medium/lighter oil; typically house shot conditions. At 1500 grit and 2.517 RG, it gets thru the front really nice giving you a skid/flip motion, storing its energy for the backend. I found that straighter angles worked best for this ball. Don’t be afraid to alter the surface. I would think at 1000 grit, the ball could substitute as a benchmark piece. Pick one up today and enjoy this iconic Ebonite ball.
