Jason Couch

In his 19th year as an Ebonite staff member, Jason Couch has secured his name in bowling history as the only bowler in history to win three consecutive Tournament of Champions titles, 1999-2002, and was the Tour’s 23rd athlete to reach the million-dollar mark in earnings. Jason, a Clermont, FL resident, joined the Tour in 1991 and was promptly named the 1992 Rookie of the Year. Since then, he has captured 15 career Tour titles. He also has 24 PBA Regional titles to his credit.  Jason was also ranked 24th on list of 50 Greatest Players in PBA History in 2009.

In 2006-07, Jason posted his highest career average en route to his fifth overall and second consecutive multi-title season. With back-to-back wins in the 2007 Dick Weber Open and the 2007 Motel 6 Classic, he became the first bowler to win back-to-back titles since Tommy Jones in 2005. Jason also became the first bowler since Jones in 2005 to successfully defend a title with his win in the 2007 Dick Weber Open.

After a significant stress fracture of his knee and subsequent surgery, Jason was forced to defer his 07-08 exemptions and will be returning to the Tour this season.

“I’ve never had surgery before, but my recovery is going as expected and I should be 100 percent again by the fall.”

When asked about his goals this season, Jason shared, “Well, first I want to maintain my exemption, of course. My new regimen includes a specially created cardio routine and another hour and 15 minutes dedicated to stretching alone. This program will help keep at the top of my game physically and less likely to cause injury.”

During the summer, Jason and several of his fellow Tour pros who also love to play golf will join him for his second annual charity bowl/golf outing to benefit Special Olympics in Clermont, Fla.

Jason and his wife, Kim, live in Clermont, with their three girls, Courtney, Haley and Kailyn.
