Wauwatosa, WI - The Webber International University men’s bowling team opened the season with an impressive victory at AMF Bowlero lanes in the Milwaukee suburbs, winning the 40th annual Midwest Collegiate, a Tier I major event. Webber finished the tourament 100 pins ahead of second place Robert Morris and 344 pins ahead of 3rd place Lindenwood. This is the third consecutive major event win for the Warriors. 43 universities and colleges competed at the event contested at AMF Bowlero lanes.

On Saturday afternoon, the Warrior bowlers also shot 3440 (1098+1186+1156) for one of the nation’s highest team set scores. The team shot 1186 (234+238+247+226+241) and 1156 (230+235+211+234+246) after starting with 1098. TJ Baral (Florida), Larry Brande (Florida), Javier Diaz (Puerto Rico), Miguel Diaz (Puerto Rico), Gary Faulkner Jr. (Tennessee), Jon Trzcinski (New York), Marcelo Suartz (Brazil) and Kristis Sergejevas (Lithuania) represented the team. In the Baker portion, the team averaged 209..

The streak of major wins started in December 2009, when the Warriors repeated as champions at the Nittany Lion Kegler Classic in Maple Shade, NJ. Webber International University followed this up with a win in Indianapolis at the prestigious Hoosier Classic defeating the field of 69 universities, going undefated in match play.
