MALDONADO REPEATS VICTORY WITH EBONITE BOWLING BALLS

Shawn Maldonado of Houston, Tex., could get use to competing in the TNBA Bill Rhodman Memorial tournaments.

Maldonado, an Ebonite staff member, took part in his first ever Western Region Rhodman tournament last year, which he won, and then backed that up by winning the 2010 event as well.  For winning this event, Maldonado was invited to a roll-off between all four regional winners. He came out victorious once again.

The two-hander credits the popular Ebonite Mission for much of his recent success: “The Mission is just an outstanding ball Ebonite came out with,” Maldonado said. “For me it just matches up to pretty much everything I have bowled on. I have so much confidence in this ball, and when you have confidence, you’re able to get comfortable and execute better.”

Needing the first strike in the 10th to secure the championship, Maldonado calmly stepped up and executed flawlessly to claim the victory.

“During the final match I just wanted to continue to make great shots,” Maldonado said.  “It was a one-game match so I didn’t want to give away any frames. I needed the first strike in the 10th to shut out my opponent, and was just telling myself to make a great shot like I did the previous 9 frames. I would like to thank Ebonite for continuing to come out with great equipment.  Most importantly I want to thank my wife, Megan Maldonado, for always pushing me to succeed in what I love doing. She is such great support.”
