BARNES, JONES, KULICK TO REPRESENT U.S. IN WTBA WORLD SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIPS

Team USA members Chris Barnes, Tommy Jones and Kelly Kulick, along with former PBA Women’s Series competitor Shannon O’Keefe, are representing the United States in the inaugural World Tenpin Bowling Association World Singles Championships which get underway today at Galactica Bowling Center in Limossol, Cyprus. The event concludes on Wednesday, Sept. 26.

International PBA Tour competitors who are bowling for their home countries in the event include: Canada’s Dan MacLelland, Colombia’s Andres Gomez, England’s Stuart Williams and Finland’s Osku Palermaa.

The WTBA singles event will include two six-game qualifying blocks for all players with the top 24 men and top 24 women advancing to the best-of-five-game single-elimination match-play Sept. 24-25. The top eight qualifiers receive one bye. The final two survivors in each division will battle for the gold and silver medals on Sept. 26 (semifinal round losers will each receive bronze medals).
