Hello all, so I had put down the ball for a little while, started hurting my wrist and complicating my guitar playing which is a no no for me. But I decided to get back in to bowling again with a group of friends. I had a 16 ebonite primal instinct that I've had for years and fell in love with...pretty much defined my game!! One night we decide to go bowling and when we get to the lane I open my bag and my ball is cracked all the way around. ..no chance of repair!
So im posting to ask if anyone knows of a new ball that would have a place in my heart like my primal instinct. I looked at the core and tried to compare but there are so many different ones out there that I have no idea what would be similar.
I thank you for your time and help on getting me back to the lanes again!!
Hmm..
Primal Instinct was a sanded ball, great in heavy oil, 1000 Abralon.. That gets you plenty of options. At this point it comes down to what performance level you would like.
If you went mid-range, the Elevate would be what you are looking for, and possibly take the polish off. That should nearly get you the same performance, but it will burn up in the heads and midlane, giving you nothing in the back.
After that, I'd say Warning Sign, but again, you're going to burn up a lot of energy in the mids, just like the Elevate. to save that, you'd have to add polish to it, or change the surface altogether.
High performance, I would say the Challenge, at OOB finish. The way they took pieces of their most popular coverstocks and added them together makes this ball a good choice. You'll get the same performance out of this as you would the Primal Instinct, and sacrifice nothing.
Personally, I would go Challenge, followed by Champion, but if you're looking for near equal performance, the Challenge may be the way to go.
