Hey Gang,
I'm getting back into the fun of competition bowling after being out for over 5 years. I was out throwing some practice shots with my Savage when the pro shop guy came up to me and told me I was getting into a bad habit of throwing with a suitcase grip. I was throwing my ball, rotating the wrist to finish with a handshake (Horizontal palm to vertical palm, without a bent wrist.) He instructed me that I should keep the palm of my hand behind the ball the whole time, so my palm finished facing the ceiling. He summarized I was throwing the ball incorrectly (rotating my wrist) to compensate for a bad drill pattern.
Are the bowling balls so advanced now that they don't require any turning of the wrist? Or should I get a second opinion? This has really been bugging me for the past couple of days, as what he told me goes against the grain of what I have been taught.
