Post Weight of vintage bowling balls
How can I find out information on 2 vintage Ebonite balls? First off I need to know the weight of them. I can't find any number other than the serial number. I would also like to find out how old they are and if they have value. They were given to me in used condition, well over 10 years ago. I have never used them and I was going to pass them on to someone else who was looking for 2 bowling balls. I can't figure out the lbs. of each and I don't want to give away the balls if they have any significant value.

Descriptions:

Ebonite Regency 300 Urethane - black in color - Serial #13A5168

Lady Ebonite Gyro I Urethane - hot pink swirl - Serial #93E0101

Thank you very much for any help you can provide.

Every manufacturer codes their serial numbers differently. The first number in the serial number for Ebonite is usually the last digit of the year. Letter is an indicator of month manufacturer, I believe.

Ebonite Regency 300 Urethane - black in color - Serial #13A5168 it appears that this ball is a 16 pound.

Lady Ebonite Gyro I Urethane - hot pink swirl - Serial #93E0101 would appear to be a 10 pond ball.

You could email Ebonite
the serial numbers of each ball and see if they can tell you exactly

Thank you very much for the info. After I made my post on this site, I did send an e-mail to Ebonite and am currently awaiting a reply back. Since then...I found 2 more bowling balls in my hall closet. Funny how I have 4 bowling balls, 2 of which I have no idea where they came from, and probably bowled 6 times in my life and never once with any of the bowling balls I have.

That almost makes me feel like bowling....almost.

Thanks again!
