Tommy Jones
Tommy Jones capped off a tremendous 2005-06 season by capturing PBA
Player of the Year honors. Jones is one of only two bowlers in PBA
history to win both Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year over the
course of their careers.
Jones won a tour-high four consecutive titles last season -- matching
his total from 2004-05 and thus becoming just the second bowler since
1999 to win eight titles over two seasons. Jones led the tour in
earnings with $301,700, the third-highest single-season total in PBA
annals. He also finished second in points (237,886), tied for first in
match play appearances (19), tied for second in TV appearances (6) and
finished fifth in average (221.68). Among his four titles was the U.S.
Open, Jones' first major win in five seasons on tour.
